Tanja Takala
Clinical Psychologist
Tanja is a clinical psychologist with extensive experience across public and private mental health settings in both Australia and the UK. She offers warm, compassionate, gender- and neuroaffirming care, and has a particular interest in working with people impacted by relational and complex trauma. Additionally, she has specialist experience in helping people navigate social and medical gender affirmation.
Tanja understands that people’s emotional difficulties often reflect the ways in which they have learned to cope and survive within the context of their life experiences, relationships, and the broader social systems around us. She aims to create a therapeutic space where people feel deeply seen, emotionally safe, and able to explore themselves without judgement.
Tanja’s approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each individual. She draws from Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based practices, and psychodynamic therapy. She passionately believes in the human capacity for healing and growth and feels privileged to support people in moving towards a more authentic and meaningful life.
Tanja consults from Chrysalis Allied Health on Mondays commencing the 6th of July 2026,
