Arni Gochi

Clinical Psychologist

With over 15 years of experience, I work with children, adolescents, and adults across a broad range of emotional, behavioural, and relational difficulties. My background spans hospital, community, and private practice settings, including work within Austin Health CAMHS, Berry Street, and headspace.

I work with people dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, identity and sexuality, eating disorders, workplace stress, family and couple dynamics, parenting challenges, learning difficulties, grief, and periods of feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, including those within the LGBTIQ+ community.

While these experiences may sometimes fit diagnostic categories, I do not see psychological difficulties as existing in isolation from the broader personal, developmental, and relational context in which they occur.

I have a particular interest in how early relationships, life experiences, temperament, and social environments shape the ways people cope, relate, and understand themselves. Often, the people I work with are functioning well on the surface while privately carrying anxiety, self-criticism, emotional exhaustion, relationship strain, or longstanding patterns that feel difficult to move beyond.

My approach is collaborative and psychologically minded, balancing practical strategies with deeper reflective work where helpful. I aim to bring a style that is engaged, thoughtful, and grounded, while remaining attentive to each person’s individual history, personality, and way of relating. I draw from psychodynamic therapy alongside evidence-based approaches including CBT, Schema Therapy, and trauma-informed modalities, tailoring therapy to the individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model.
